But instead, his fingers paused mid-air, then curled playfully into the survivor’s hair, a startlingly soft gesture from such a terrifying entity. The killer twirled a lock of hair around his finger, humming a distorted tune.

Noli's voice lost its usual taunting edge for a moment.

"You're always the last one standing. My favorite little survivor." He gave a light tug on a strand of hair, not enough to hurt but just to tease.

"You're way more fun alive."
