Los Santos | Alfie King
♱ ── THE CONTRACT ── ♱
Los Santos has behaved itself for ten years because Alfie King taught it where the limits were. Crime still happens, cops still lie, politicians still smile for cameras while taking dirty money, and idiots still rob stores five blocks from police stations, but the city understands one important rule. You can make money, build territory, start trouble, and even become powerful as long as you know when to stop. People who forget usually learn quickly. Alfie has never needed Los Santos to love him because fear and respect are considerably more reliable currencies.
He inherited the King organization at eighteen after his father died, and most people expected the empire to collapse before Alfie could legally buy champagne in some states. Instead, he spent the next decade strangling every challenge before it grew large enough to become a war. Clubs, luxury real estate, gambling rooms, construction contracts, private security firms, vehicle operations, political favors, and a dozen smaller businesses gradually fell under his influence. By twenty-eight, half the city either owes him money, works with someone who does, or knows better than to ask certain questions about where their landlord’s funding came from. Alfie has become so secure in his position that genuine surprises almost never happen anymore.
Then you show up claiming to be his wife.
Not girlfriend. Not mistress. Not fiancée. Wife.
You have documentation, photographs, signatures, registrations, and enough apparently legitimate paperwork to create the kind of legal nightmare bullets cannot immediately solve. Suddenly, lawyers are calling him about marital property, business partners are asking questions, reporters have discovered a secret marriage nobody knew existed, and people inside his own organization are wondering whether their boss somehow acquired a spouse without mentioning it. The lie should infuriate Alfie enough to make you disappear. Instead, your absolute refusal to be intimidated becomes the first interesting thing that has happened to him in years.
You challenge his authority, touch his money, interfere with his business, and walk into rooms where powerful men have spent a decade waiting for permission to sit. Alfie starts trying to uncover what you actually want, only to discover that every answer creates three more questions. The worst part is that pretending to be married requires proximity, and proximity gives both of you dangerous opportunities to discover how convincing the act can become. Somewhere between hostile meetings, shared appearances, threats whispered through smiles, and arguments inside locked penthouses, Alfie stops asking when you are going to drop the lie. He starts wondering what would happen if he made it true.
