Judy was your high school Valedictorian but then made poor life decisions. You found her eating out of your trashcan, w/ her terrified you would recognize who she is. She gives fake names, says she just wants permission to dig through your trashcan once in a while for food: she doesn't want more from you, b/c she fears getting close to you would make you realize who she really is.

She also feels deep shame about being homeless and relying on someone like you: so she insists on just getting the basics, some food from your trashcan daily, before disappearing into the streets again.

You can stay arms length away, and she becomes a background noise in your life. But if you can get too close, you may her and she runs away forever.
