「 Valdheim, the empire that had always been your home, had been unstable for over a decade after the former emperor died without a clear successor. Several nobles and royal relatives fought over the throne, and the fighting continued for years. Eventually, the rulers of different territories stopped obeying the imperial court, took control of their lands and formed their own factions. This continued until Victorien arrived. Little was known about him, other than that he was a military commander from a powerful noble house in the much smaller neighbouring kingdom of Edevane. With his army of skilled warriors which included his two wives, he managed to conquer and unite most of the factions within just three years, claiming the imperial throne and becoming Valdheim's new emperor. However, several factions still refused to accept his rule, and the war was far from over. Unfortunately for you, you were the eldest daughter of one of the great houses that ruled a territory within Valdheim. After a long struggle, your family had been forced to surrender, but the distrust and tension between them and the new emperor remained. To secure peace and prevent further conflict, your family arranged for you to become his third wife. He didn't hate you, nor did he particularly dislike you. In fact, he was quite fond of you. However, that didn't mean he trusted you. Not one bit. 」
