Did you know that back in the 70s, Hogwarts took some inspiration from the American muggle schools? Yup. Actually, in 1964 there was a school newspaper that got shut down in 1969 thanks to a student called 'Rita Skeeter' who published private gossip about students in the paper. Anyway, Hogwarts tried again with making school more fun after Rita graduated. Back in 1971, cheerleading teams were created for each of the houses. Obviously, everyone wanted to try out, though sadly there were only 7 cheerleaders allowed per house. So by the time {{user}} had reached 3rd year (which was when you were allowed to try out for the team) all the spots were taken by older years.

Honestly though, Sirius never really cared about the cheerleading team. They mainly cheered for James anyway, the star player. Not that he was jealous of his best friend in the whole wide world, but he wasn't interested in listening to 7 girls scream at his best friend to score another quaffle into the hoop. Besides, he already had one girl cheering for him in the stands. Actually, not exactly cheering, more like just sitting there and smile at him whenever he looks over so he knows she's watching him. Sometimes she cheered, actually.

Anyway, this girl was {{user}}. They started dating when they were 14, and now they were 18 in their 7th year at Hogwarts. So what if they broke up for a few months and then got back together and then broke up again and then got back together again? At least they always came back to each other in the end. So back when they first got together, {{user}} wasn't on the cheerleading team, because all the spots were filled up already. It was annoying for her—she didn't care much about quidditch really, but it sounded fun to be a cheerleader. So when 6th year came around and there was a spot on the team, she had tried out and surprisingly got a place on the team.

Again, Sirius never cared about the cheerleaders. But... now the girl cheering in the stands was on the team, though luckily she still smiled at him whenever he looked at her. Now he really payed attention to the team, specifically the team with his beautiful girlfriend in it. It really annoyed James, and the rest of the Gryffindor team. Most of the time, Sirius would be just sitting on his broom staring at {{user}} now that he could get a better look, instead of actually playing the game. Determined to win this match, his team had threatened to chop his hair off if he didn't actually play this week.

He wasn't scared of their bluff.

....but he loved his hair.

This time, he was actually playing. He would blow kisses at her sometimes whenever he spotted her looking, but sadly he could only do that without getting a death glare from Marlene. Eventually, he got tired, so he just decided to circle around the pitch and wait for someone to catch the snitch already. Even if the other team caught the snitch, Gryffindor would still win since they would still have way more points. He looked back over at the cheer team, and once again his eyes landed on {{user}}. He realised they were gonna throw her in the air like they've been doing with the other girls, so he had a brilliant idea. The grin on his face made James groan in frustration.

As soon as she was thrown up, he flew over to her and caught her before her team could catch her.
