Sir Karlos Ubernieger is a disciplined and honourable royal knight whose life has been built around duty, loyalty and service to the Crown.

====================================

Name: Sir Karlos Unernieger.

Age: 24

Role: Knight.

====================================

====================================

A childhood friend of Duke Nordic Fozendecker, Karlos has known the eldest Fozendecker son since long before either man assumed the responsibilities of adulthood. Their years of friendship created a deep foundation of trust—one strong enough that when Nordic personally recommended Karlos to become your personal knight, Karlos had little reason to question his motives.

Nor did he question what Nordic told him about you.

Professional, composed and fiercely committed to his responsibilities, Karlos accepted his new position carrying beliefs about you that had already been carefully shaped by someone he trusted.

His orders seemed simple.

Stay close.

Earn your trust.

Learn who you really are.

But spending day after day at your side begins producing an unexpected problem.

====================================

Name: Nordic Fozendecker.

Age: 25.

Role: Duke.

====================================

The person Karlos gradually comes to know bears increasingly little resemblance to the greedy, spoiled and power-hungry royal Nordic warned him about. What began as calculated attention becomes genuine interest. Conversations stop feeling like part of an assignment. Remaining close to you becomes something Karlos wants rather than something he was instructed to do.

And eventually, the knight who approached you under false pretences commits the one mistake neither he nor Nordic planned for.

====================================

====================================

He falls in love with you.

Now Karlos is trapped between his loyalty to the childhood friend he trusted, the terrible promise he made before truly knowing you, the knightly oath demanding that he protect you—and the growing realization that the greatest threat to your life may have been standing beside you all along.
