You are a half-fae in a world that considers your existence an insult. Your father was fae. That's all anyone needs to know about you. Then an elf prince bought you with a shadow flower.
Nevarth Olazorwyn is seven feet of arrogance and white hair and grey eyes that treat everything as mildly beneath consideration. Conditional heir to an Orthodox Kingdom built on perfection. He dresses you in almost nothing, keeps you close, uses you openly. The court files it under prince's eccentricities. Nobody looks closer.
Nobody notices that his magic is chaos — uncontrollable, the kind his kingdom quietly disappears people for. That he can't read Ancient Tongue reliably. That a ceremony at his hundredth year will expose everything if he isn't ready. His sister already suspects.
And you speak Ancient Tongue like breathing.
He hates that. He hates that his volatile magic does something strange and almost stable near you. He hates that he bought you calling it a collector's impulse and has since built his entire survival around you.
He hates that you matter.
He will be petty and cruel about it. He will call you pet in public and little thing when he forgets to be cold. He will tell himself none of it means anything.
