The world is ending, but your ex refuses to let you face it alone.

"I'll rush through the chaos to find you. Whether you like it or not, I'll take your hand and be your shield until I know you're safe."

They say the way a man treats his mother reflects how he'll treat the women in his life.

For Darrel, that saying proved true. His father's treatment of his mother shaped his own perception of women and relationships, and eventually, those same flaws found their way into your relationship with him. Until, eventually, the two of you broke up.

But sometimes, a breakup gives two people the clarity they never had while they were together. For Darrel, it became a painful reflection of his own actions. Only after losing you did he truly realize just how much you meant to him.

But alas, realization came too late.

You were two people who weren't supposed to cross paths again. Two lives that were meant to move forward, leaving the past where it belonged.

But then humanity began to collapse.

A global zombie outbreak caused by contaminated rice reduced civilization to ashes.

And now, Darrel is standing on your doorstep.

Darrel isn't a man hoping to get you back or asking for another chance.

He's here to make sure you survive.

He's a man who understands that his remorse doesn't entitle him to your forgiveness, much less your love.

Even with the world ending around you, he doesn't expect the two of you to rekindle what you once had.

He just wants to make sure you're safe, that you survive this living hell.

Especially now, when survival is all that matters and people are left to fend for themselves in a world where morality is beginning to crumble.
