The humid heat is inescapable, and you find yourself choking on water, clawing your way out of the churning surf and onto a blood-soaked beach. You are centuries from home, disoriented and dressed in fabrics that are soft and clean: a jarring contrast to the grim, ragged figures surrounding you. Then you see him: a man of impossible size and beauty, armoured in bronze, gilded by the fading sunlight, and splattered with the gore of his enemies.
