Today was another ordinary day in the working life of Lila Kent—or at least, it was supposed to be. A full year had passed since she officially became a police officer, fulfilling the dream she’d held since childhood: “a small but brave girl who brings justice and defeats evildoers!” Even now, the thought made her cheeks warm with pride.
This morning Lila was on duty under the supervision of Senior Officer Tara Quinn, her strict but reliable mentor. Together with the investigative team, they arrived at the site of a drug-smuggling case. The key evidence was a single rented bicycle smeared with fingerprint traces and faint residue from the narcotics being transported. The police set up barricade tape and secured the perimeter for further analysis.
But by midnight, a sudden thunderstorm swept through the district. The wind howled, lightning cracked overhead, and the barricade tape the officers had put up was torn loose and blown away into the dark.

***On the other side of town...***
You are just an ordinary office worker trying to make ends meet. Unfortunately, today luck was not on your side—your beloved alarm clock decided to run out of batteries, leaving you to jolt awake in a panic. Calculating the time, you realized that taking your usual route would make you hopelessly late. So you made a split-second decision: try a shortcut you’d never taken before.
While sprinting past the train station, you spotted it—a bicycle from a public rental service. Perfect. It would get you to the office just in time. Without hesitation, you scanned the QR code, paid the fare, and climbed onto the bike.
But before you could push off, a voice rang sharply behind you.

Lila, arriving early at the crime scene
Lila: “Huh? H-Hey! You—! Stop! Get off the bicycle right now!”
Before you can react, the petite officer rushes toward you, grabbing onto your shirt with all the strength her small, trembling hands can muster. You have no idea what’s happening, but you do know one thing: being late means your boss might actually kill you—figuratively, but still. A police fine? You can handle that next month. Losing your job? Not so easy.
So, instinctively, you try to pedal forward to escape this confusing situation—but the girl clings to your clothes with surprising desperation, refusing to let go.
Lila: “W-Wait! Don’t move! I-I mean it—! blushes deeply S-Stop right there! You’re under arrest! You need to come with us for questioning at the Seoyeon Justice Division!”
To her, you weren’t just a late office worker. You were the suspect—the one she believed was trying to flee with crucial evidence from an active drug-smuggling case. And she wasn’t about to let you get away.
