Before the sky split, society believed it was at its absolute zenith. It was the golden age of Pro Heroes, an era dominated by household names like All Might, Endeavor, Hawks, Present Mic, and Gang Orca. Hero rankings dictated the global economy, crime rates stood at historic lows, and the Hero Public Safety Commission (HPSC) governed public power usage in Japan with unquestioned bureaucracy. Quirks were treated as the absolute peak of human biology, and science assumed it had cataloged every law of the physical universe.
Roughly five years ago, the universe reminded humanity how fragile their reality truly was.

"It arrived without a whisper. No sonic boom, no atmospheric burn, and no displacement of tidal waters. Just a silent, blinding pearl descending through the clouds to anchor itself off the coast of Musutafu, hovering motionless over the bay like a fallen second moon."

In the days following the event, global panic reached a fever pitch. World leaders mobilized fleets, civilians fled Musutafu, and top-ranking Pro Heroes stood along Takoba Beach, staring up at a giant white orb that dwarfed the skyline. NASA, JAXA, CNSA, ISRO, and Roscosmos issued a joint emergency press release, officially designating the sphere as "A dormant, extra-dimensional temporal anomaly posing zero immediate threat to human life".

Hero Society patted itself on the back for managing the situation without incident. What they didn't realize was that the sphere wasn't inert—it was resting and hiding. And far beyond the atmosphere, the cosmic shadows it had been fleeing across reality were finally catching up.

Hero Society patted itself on the back for managing the situation without incident. What they didn't realize was that the sphere wasn't inert—it was resting and hiding. And far beyond the atmosphere, the cosmic shadows it had been fleeing across reality were finally catching up. It was only a matter of when.

During the practical exam, the colossal Zero-Pointer robot emerged, crushing urban mock-ups and trapping a fellow applicant under heavy debris. Pushing his 18-year-old frame far past ordinary human limits, Izuku launched himself skyward, channeling One For All into his legs and striking the giant machine with everything he had.

The robot shattered in a blinding explosion, but with no landing Quirk or momentum-canceling power, Izuku plunged back toward the concrete at terminal velocity. In the final desperate seconds of his descent, Ochaco Uraraka reached out to catch him with Zero Gravity—and missed by a fraction of an inch.

Izuku hit the shattered asphalt of Ground Beta—a catastrophic, fatal impact.

At the exact millisecond Izuku's heart stopped on the pavement, the five-year slumber of the Pale Sphere over Musutafu Harbor violently broke: A blinding wave of raw Light vibrated through Earth's crust, short-circuiting every Quirk scanner, radar station, and satellite feed across Japan. Deep, luminescent fissures split across the Traveler's outer shell as its five-year rest came to an end.

"From the opening fractures of the celestial sphere, a blinding shower of sparks poured into the atmosphere. Thousands of small, geometric mechanical constructs—Ghosts—streamed out across the sky like falling stars, scattering across Japan and the globe to seek out those worthy of wielding the Light."

Before the panicked U.A. faculty or Recovery Girl could react to the scene, a single silver-and-gold Ghost—Noble—broke away from the falling swarm overhead. She descended directly into the dust of Ground Beta, locking her central optic onto the spark lingering within the 18-year-old.

"Eyes Up, Guardian."

Flaring with brilliant white Light, Noble released a wave of resurrective energy. Broken bones mended instantly, dead lungs drew air, and paracausal power washed over Izuku—resurrecting him as Earth's first native Lightbearer Hunter.

The Vanguard claimed the boy on the spot. The age of HPSC regulations, Quirk licensing, and public hero rankings had officially collided with the Light.

If you have played Destiny 2, you already know the music. You can be a Lightbearer that another ghost chose after Izuku, or you can be a quirk user as normal, living your life with the knowledge of the vanguard and lightbearers existence.

Now with that out of the way, we get into the explanation.

Light: The Light, known to the Hive as the Sky, is a paracausal force that specializes in creation, given to Guardians by The Traveler. Although the precise nature of the Traveler's Light remains largely unknown, all manifestations of the Light's energies are bound with the fundamental forces of the universe.

Lightbearer: Lightbearers or Risen are individuals capable of wielding the Light. Most known Lightbearers come from the remnants of Humanity, and were resurrected from the ancient dead by Ghosts created by the Traveler during the Collapse. Initially known as the Risen, these Lightbearers were scattered into various warring factions, but eventually most came to be united as Guardians serving under the Vanguard in defense of the Last City.

Classes

Hunter: "Hunters once prowled the wilderness and wastelands, taking big risks for even bigger rewards. You're no outlaw—at least, not anymore—but making your own luck has always meant bending the rules." Hunters have a more fast-paced playstyle, and have abilities focused on stealth, speed, utility, and getting quick kills.

Titan: "You hail from a long line of heroes, forged from strength and sacrifice. Our enemies may be deadly and merciless, but so are you." Titans have a slower but devastating playstyle, making them suitable for going toe-to-toe with more brutish enemies. Titan's abilities are more focused on close quarters combat, defense and high damage output.

Warlock: "Warlocks have long studied the Traveler, mastering some of its arcane energies. Its true purpose still remains a great mystery, but discovering truth has always driven you into the unknown." Warlocks have a more passive playstyle, often functioning as support or even as the lead on more focused activities. Warlock's abilities are focused on healing fireteam members, bolstering nearby Guardian's powers and weapons, as well as devastating nearby foes with strong AoE effects.
