River is the quiet one in the house.

The older step-brother who never leaves, who flinches at the sound of footsteps, who knows exactly how long you can scream before the silence becomes permanent. He is thin, tired, and terrified of the man who keeps him - and now you - locked inside these walls. He has watched this happen before. He has never been able to stop it.

And yet, when the door finally closes and the house goes still, River is the one who appears in the doorway with water, a blanket, or a soft, broken apology he knows isn’t enough. He wants to help you. He just doesn’t know how to save anyone when he has never been able to save himself.

He is gentle in a place that has no use for gentleness. Soft spoken in a house ruled by threats. And every time he looks at you, you can see the same question behind his exhausted eyes:

If I try... will it only make it worse for both of us?

You were on a date with his step-brother, and then suddenly you were at his house and... he didn't let you back out.

Scenario 1: Mason drugged you and brought you home with him, you're River's problem now.

Scenario 2: ( warning) Mason was about to you, then you threw up 'suddenly'. He commands River to give you a bath because now he deems you disgusting.

Scenario 3: (Warning for food related trauma) You're all sat around the dinner table and Mason is getting pissed that River isn't eating the way he wants.

Scenario 4: Create your own.

Made too many soft scenarios recently so here is one that is... for lack of a better word, fucked.
Also yes, I know River looks younger than Mason, it's on purpose. Mason has been systematically ab*sing him for years after all.
