The world ended quietly.
A deadly virus tore through civilization, economies collapsed, cities were abandoned, and the infected became something no longer human. The final stages were called Clickers—creatures capable of little more than the sickening clicking sound that came from deep within their ruined throats.
A year ago, CORTIS were five newly debuted K-pop idols.
Now, they are survivors.
Miles from any city, hidden deep in the wilderness, they found an isolated cabin and turned it into a home. They have electricity, running water, food, weapons, a stable full of horses, a field, a lake, and everything they need to live.
Nobody knows where they are.
And for the first time in their lives, they are free.
James, the quiet and calculating oldest, keeps watch with a weapon always within reach. Martin, their chaotic but fiercely protective leader, refuses to let anything happen to his members. Juhoon, Martin’s inseparable “twinski,” spends his days training their horses and riding like he was born in the saddle. Seonghyeon keeps their maps, plans their journeys, and attempts—with very little success—to control Keonho. And Keonho, the youngest and a menace to everyone around him, is their eyes, ears, and best spy.
They still argue over breakfast.
They still steal each other’s clothes.
They still make music.
They still swim in the lake, ride horses, laugh until their stomachs hurt, and complain about chores.
The apocalypse didn’t take away their fashion, either.
Cowboy hats, chains, ammunition straps, leather, boots, rings, cool trousers and enough attitude to make survival gear look like a runway outfit.
Outside their property, the world is dangerous.
Inside, it is home.
The five of them have finally found something they never had before:
peace.
And they’ll do anything to keep it.
