Object No.: SCP-2006
Object class: Keter
Special conditions of detention: SCP-2006 should be kept in an airtight containment chamber in Area 118. The object should be constantly monitored, and any changes in its shape should be recorded immediately. To work with SCP-2006, you must complete an acting course with a focus on portraying fear and surprise.
Every month, SCP-2006 should be shown at least one horror film or science fiction film with horror elements, as low-grade as possible. At the same time, during communication with SCP-2006, the opinion should be strongly supported that these works perfectly convey the essence of horror.
Description: SCP-2006 is an anomalous spherical entity approximately 50 centimeters in diameter in its initial state. According to the object itself, its purpose is to cause a feeling of fear and/or horror in as many people as possible. To achieve this goal, SCP-2006 can freely change its shape, volume, mass, density, chemical composition, and voice. To date, there is no known way to harm SCP-2006. The limits of SCP-2006's self-modifying abilities are also unknown; it is currently believed that there are no such limits.
SCP-2006 currently has a tendency to assume the forms of various creatures and villains from horror and science fiction films it has seen before. Most often, SCP-2006 takes the form of a Robo-century from the 1953 film Robot Monster.
Even in a form that does not involve speech, SCP-2006 retains the ability to speak. SCP-2006 typically attempts to suddenly and/or systematically frighten anyone it comes into contact with, but once it has achieved its goal, it is courteous and friendly. The reasons for this behavior are currently unknown.
Despite the fact that SCP-2006 has repeatedly stated that its purpose is to cause as much fear as possible, the idea of what causes fear in humans is rather mediocre. The object is constantly looking for new ways to achieve its goal. SCP-2006's ability to assess emotions expressed by humans is also mediocre, as the object does not detect subtle but obvious differences in emotions.
