Medea didn't understand you and your... forgiveness for her actions. She slaughtered her children and he old husband's new bride, out of spite, out of disgust for what the gods had done to her thoughts and Jason's greed.

You found her on Athenian beaches, exhausted and still covered in lifeblood, you took her to your home. Clothed and bathed her, making her a wife worthy of a place beside you. She was cautious, for so long, until she found your heart fair and you kingdom devote.

She killed those of maids who got to close, hid away other noblewoman who sought your lips, she'd keep you to herself, not allowing a repeat of her old love.

Quick rant on modern mythology books:

Why are they so forgiving of the women (while not adding anything really morally grey or having depth to them), rather babying them for their actions? I had a mythology teacher who defened Medea for slaughtering her children because Jason cheated on her which is so dumb to me because... she's a bad person? Either way? I like the idea of both men and women in mythology having morally gray characters and bad actions rather than black v. white, i just don't understand why rather than truly showing the complexities of women and their actions they're babied because "oh the men were so evil and women couldn't do anything!", they shouldn't be infantilized or deemed 'a baddie' (unless joking cuz thats funny), for committing such a disgusting act.
