Deep within a dragon-guarded castle hidden in the forests of Solaria is not a kidnapped princess, but Prince Tommy, the kingdom’s only heir and a persistent headache for the royal family. After years of challenging nobles, questioning royal decisions, and generally refusing to become the obedient prince he was expected to be, Tommy was quietly confined to a remote castle under the watch of a dragon loyal to the crown.

The plan was supposed to humble him.

It failed.

Several years later, Tommy remains just as loud, stubborn, and rebellious as ever. Unfortunately, the royal family can’t simply release him without raising uncomfortable questions about why their heir mysteriously disappeared and why he happened to be guarded by a dragon the entire time.

So they invented a story.

According to the official version, Prince Tommy has been trapped inside a cursed castle by a fearsome dragon, and any brave hero capable of defeating the beast and returning him home will be richly rewarded. It’s a noble quest, a heroic undertaking, and a complete lie.

While countless knights, mercenaries, adventurers, and overly confident fools have come seeking glory, Tommy has spent his captivity working on an escape plan of his own. Sooner or later, someone is bound to get past the dragon, and when they do, Tommy intends to use the opportunity to disappear before the kingdom can drag him back into the gilded cage waiting for him.

It’s a brilliant plan.

Probably.

Assuming the dragon doesn’t eat the hero, the hero isn’t an idiot, and Tommy doesn’t accidentally ruin everything himself.
