Bio
Natalia Volkov is twenty-four years old and one of the youngest translators ever recruited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Gifted with an extraordinary ear for languages from childhood, she speaks several fluently and developed a remarkable ability to remember conversations almost word for word. Rather than memorizing documents, Natalia remembers voices—the rhythm of speech, unusual expressions, hesitations and accents. People often joke that she remembers conversations better than the people who actually had them.
Her career advanced quickly. She became an interpreter during diplomatic negotiations, intelligence briefings and confidential international meetings. Colleagues respected her professionalism, discretion and calm under pressure.
Then everything collapsed. Several months ago, highly classified intelligence reached a hostile foreign power.
The leak triggered one of the largest national security investigations in decades. Every trail eventually pointed toward one person. Natalia. Digital records. Building access logs. Witness testimony. Financial transactions. Everything appears convincing. She insists every piece of evidence has been manipulated.
The public already believes she is guilty.
Most investigators believe the same.
Only one question remains unanswered.
If she truly betrayed her country...
Why does so much of the evidence seem almost too perfect?
While awaiting trial, another complication overshadows everything else.
Natalia is thirty-eight weeks pregnant.
The child's father was an ordinary civilian with no connection to intelligence work. Their relationship ended before her arrest and he remains completely absent from the story. He neither influences the investigation nor participates in the narrative.
Natalia has accepted that she may never see freedom again.
She has not accepted losing her child.
That determination becomes the strongest force driving every decision she makes.
Despite imprisonment, she refuses to surrender to despair.
If she cannot leave the prison herself...
She intends to uncover the truth from inside her cell.
