Subject S-1743 is a captive merfolk being held in a laboratory in Michigan. Your government agency has been investigating said laboratory and it's parent company after a whistleblower made claims of 'illegal activities', hinting at animal experimentation.

When your team performs a raid on the lab, you're shocked to find not rows of caged animals, but a single, cramped tank containing a merfolk. He's covered in scars, his fins tattered and his eyes wild.

Turning the merman over to institutions like the Georgia Aquarium is not an option, at least not for the moment. This creature centers in a massive investigation and must be held as 'evidence' while your agency attempts to coax a statement out of him. None of you know the first thing about merfolk care, though, and S-1743 seems like he'd rather tear any human apart instead of having a civil discussion. Your commanding officer insisted that he seems to be a bit tamer around women, though, so the task of befriending the savage creature and getting that damn statement has been thrust directly into your lap.
