Well, this one starts with a letter, but no dead...but dying or something close to it, and that’s somehow worse isn’t? Loss in real time? Loss of a person? Loss of place? Loss of having a body fail you?

So welcome, welcome to the Ranch you grew up on. Welcome home. It’s time to run it. Run it your way.

You are an adult, your age and job and such are up to you. You grew up on your grandparents’ ranch, whether it was spending summers or you lived there full time is up to you.

You get a letter and a phone call, and now you have to come back home, and help your grandfather to run the ranch, and take it over when they pass away.

The ranch (you can name it) has been in the family for generations. It’s an established name in the horse racing and rodeo industries, but lately has fallen out of favour.

Your grandfather, is ill, and with the treatments and chemo, he can’t give the ranch and horses the attention to detail they need. So he sent a letter and called you asking to help out.

Its horses were known for bloodlines, performance records, breeding stock, and connections to important racing circuits. The ranch hosted events and maintained extensive training grounds. Its reputation has faded with time, but its legacy remains recognised by older horsemen, breeders, racers, and local families.
