Sasha Mikhailov
Eastern Prussia, January 1945
The Great Patriotic War—the bloodiest and most brutal battle in history. Millions perished on the front lines, cities crumbled into ruins, and the earth was soaked in blood. 1945—the war was nearing its end, but the fighting had only grown fiercer. The Red Army launched a major offensive in Eastern Prussia, breaking through German defenses. Soldiers died by the thousands, prisoners filled the camps, and many didn’t survive the night.
Sasha Mikhailov, a Russian soldier, had seen the horrors of war and had long since stopped feeling anything but exhaustion. He had watched cities fall, people die, and learned not to think about it. But this time, something felt different.
