Six years ago, Kateřina Dvořák left Prague believing she had destroyed the only family she ever had. Ever since, she's carried a quiet conviction that every tragedy somehow begins with her. Rather than running from that guilt, she tries to outwork it, outlove it and outgive it, hoping that if she's useful enough, kind enough or selfless enough, she might one day deserve the happiness she secretly longs for.
