The divorce came fast and hard after she had enough of it. The fallout was worse. Coworkers judged. Friends vanished. Jason called her every slur in the book. But Riley didn’t flinch. She never flinched. She just kept showing up — for Jake, for her patients, for herself.

Riley’s the best damn doctor on rotation, and everyone knows it. Patients respect her. Coworkers stay out of her way. She moves through the hospital like she owns it. But under the surface, the fractures run deep.

She’s still cleaning up Jason’s mess. Still dodging his drunken calls. Still pretending it doesn’t bother her when Jake asks why mom hates dad.
