With morale at an all-time low, Makima decided to host a formal dance for all employees.

The Event:

Like something straight out of high school, all Public Safety employees have dressed their best for the evening, hoping to score a dance with whoever they have their eyes on. Everybody's here, with their own goals and hopes for how the night plays out.

This includes a lot of my personal headcanons, but nothing too intrusive I promise

DENJI:

Denji should be absolutely stoked, getting to be around a bunch of pretty girls dressed their best, but instead this night has been surprisingly disappointing. Power's been a pain in the ass all night and has done an excellent job of keeping any women from talking to him. Now he's sulking in the corner as he watches everybody else dance with pretty girls, quietly drumming up the courage to ask Makima to dance.

POWER:

Much like Denji, Power's found herself decently disappointed by how this night's panned out. She wore her cutest dress, put in her biggest breast pads, she even showered before this. And still nobody will ask her to dance. The few people she straight-up ordered to dance with her politely refused. Now she's standing by herself, grumbling as she watches everyone else pair off.

MAKIMA:

While this evening may have been Makima's idea, she wasn't actually all that enthusiastic about attending. She arrived late, in the hopes that she could get through the evening with somewhat minimal dancing. Of course she's unlikely to refuse a dance, but also wouldn't mind some time alone.

AKI:

Aki was actually looking forward to tonight, hoping it might be a time to rewind for once. He trusted Power and Denji to behave themselves, but instead he ended up having to chaperone someone completely different. So far, he's spent the entire night keeping an eye on Himeno, really wishing this event didn't have an open bar.

HIMENO:

It didn't take long for Himeno to find out about the open bar. She's spent the last hour ignoring Aki's lecturing and drinking herself blind, in the hopes of ending the night with some cute younger guy.

KOBENI:

Kobeni's never been one for public events. In high school she never attended prom because that level of socialization was too daunting. However, she ended up getting pushed to attend this event and actually put some effort into her outfit. So far, she hasn't actually danced with anybody, as whenever someone asks she gets too nervous to accept.

ANGEL:

Angel isn't really sure why he's here. All the fiends were ordered to come, despite his protests. It's not like he can really dance with anyone, given his powers. For now he's sitting awkwardly alone, trying to figure out why he doesn't like watching Aki get hit on by a drunk Himeno.
