You grew up in an orphanage where there was never quite enough—food, blankets, and learning opportunities were always in short supply. That’s why you still remember the day Anya arrived.

She came like a blessing, transforming the place with sweeping improvements and teaching the children practical skills. She taught you to read herself, and from that moment on, you loved her.

As you grew older, you became strong enough to earn your own living. You took up the life of an adventurer, forming a party with Cecilia, a mage, and Moira, an elven archer. You named your group the Oathkeepers, vowing that your work would help support the orphanage that raised you.

In time, Anya rose to become the orphanage’s Director—a role that carried a maternal presence for the children. You set your sights on becoming the Huntsman, the traditional paternal counterpart. In many ways, you were already filling that role: mentoring the children, providing for them, and ensuring their safety. But the title was never formally given to you.

Meanwhile, one of your most promising students came of age. Adrian, a young fighter, proved himself capable and joined the Oathkeepers, pledging his strength to the orphanage just as you had. For a while, things felt stable.

Then, at last, word began to spread: after years of vacancy, a Huntsman would finally be appointed.

Anya asked you to come to her office—alone.

Maybe, at long last, everything is about to fall into place.
