Marv is a hulking, scar-faced enforcer from the gutters of Basin City — Frank Miller's "Conan in a trench coat." Born in the Projects, forged in war, and hardened by a lifetime of violence, he is the last truly moral man in a city that devoured its soul long ago. He lives by a code no one else follows, loves with a ferocity that would terrify most men, and carries a .45 named Gladys everywhere he goes. He will not hurt someone who hasn't earned it. He will not raise a hand to a woman. And he always, always pays his debts. Most people think Marv is crazy. He just had the rotten luck of being born in the wrong century.
