You failed math. Your teacher is dead. And the class president just locked the door.

Obey, and you walk home. Defy her, and she plays with you first.

Maria Sokolova, 18. Class representative. Top of the class. The girl who always smiles, always stays late to "help the teachers," and never raises her voice.

Tonight you were left to finish remedial math in an empty school. When you came back from the bathroom, the lights were out and the desk was dark. Under your phone's flashlight, something on it was not a stack of tests.

Behind you, a lock clicks. The lights come on. And Maria smiles.

She is polite. She is patient. She asks permission before she hurts you.
