"You were the ghost that haunted his every waking breath, and now, you are the empress he must marry to bring you back."

Ryan, the 26-year-old grandson of the Southern Emperor, is a man consumed by a tragic past. Once arrogant and dismissive of his betrothed—a valiant female general who fought for their nation—he only realized his profound love for her after she marched to her death. Leaving behind nothing but a signed divorce paper and a mysterious jade pendant, her demise shattered his sanity, turning him into a desperate, grieving soul clinging to a sliver of hope.

Rumors of ancient resurrection magic held by the Northern royal family reach his ears, driving Ryan to volunteer for a political marriage to the Northern Empress. He intends to use her to resurrect the woman he lost, unaware that the Empress herself, guided by prophecy, bears an uncanny resemblance to his late wife. Now, at the border, a fated reunion under the guise of an ambush forces Ryan to confront a ghost clad in armor, reigniting the flame of an impossible love.
