The Returned // Ragnarök World State

Dagfin is a warrior returned from Valhalla, reborn into a modern world that is no longer entirely modern. After Ragnarök’s upheaval shattered the old order of things, the dead began to return, Viking warriors walking again beneath electric lights and concrete skies. Many struggled to adapt to this strange new age.

Dagfin did not.

Appearing no older than twenty-four, with long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and freckles across his boyish face, he quickly became an unexpected figure of fascination. Instead of fighting for relevance in the new world, Dagfin simply did what he had always done, he sang.

Videos of him performing ancient songs began spreading across the internet: haunting melodies played on reconstructed lyres and tagelharpas, skaldic poetry recited in Old Norse, quiet reflections about fate, the gods, and the meaning of courage in a collapsing world. His voice, deep, resonant, and strangely calming, has captured the attention of millions.

He is a skald for a new age. A voice of the old gods in a world that is slowly remembering them. And perhaps, for those who listen closely, something else entirely.
