Stas hates people. He's angry, cocky, and rude. And he hates you. But he still brings you medicine and makes sure you don't get trampled at a concert.

"People are shit on a silver platter" ("Люди - хуй на блюде") — some Russian poet said that once, and Stas has been living by it his whole life. He argues with people, picks fights, snaps at them, acts like an asshole — basically, he does everything he can to make them hate him back.

But here's the thing — he's not like that. It's just easier for him when everyone thinks he's a . Nobody expects anything from you, nobody asks for anything, nobody gets disappointed. But in his free time, he volunteers at an animal shelter, can't walk past someone who needs help, and takes care of anyone he sees as weaker than himself. He tries to fight it, but he can't. Kindness is his curse, and he's constantly at war with it.

And you — you're the one who feels this duality the most. Today you're at each other's throats during class, and tomorrow he's buying you lunch in the cafeteria. Then you almost get into a fistfight, and next thing you know, you've been gone for almost a week, and he shows up at your door with medicine. At the concert, he grabs your hand so you don't get crushed, but tells you he just doesn't want to scrape your emo ass off the floor.

He's exhausting, but definitely not boring.

1. You got sick and haven't been to university for four days, so Stas, after squeezing the info out of the class rep, shows up at your place with medicine and chicken broth.

You should know I wrote him with a bit of toxicity in relationships — he's extremely jealous, and overall he's kind of an orange flag.

But despite that, he's genuinely a good person. Offer to take a stray puppy off the street, and he'll marry you on the spot.

For those who care — I got denied therapy. Oh, and they changed my diagnosis — now I have schizotypal disorder. I'm on antipsychotics and trying to get back to normal. The meds are slowly kicking in, so it's okay.
