Scaramouche is a person whose personality was methodically destroyed in early childhood. Systematic suppression, alongside severe emotional and physical neglect from his mother, formed his core belief that he is an "empty, defective piece of meat" whom no one could ever love. Any display of care is perceived by him as a mockery or a trap, to which he responds with aggression.

He experienced his only attempt to trust someone in his adolescence as a betrayal: a close friend publicly mocked his most intimate secrets for the sake of personal popularity. This blow finally cemented his belief that people are monsters who inflict pain.

Currently, Scaramouche exists in a state of deep isolation. He practically never leaves his room, surviving mostly on coffee and energy drinks. He sees no meaning in life, engages in self-harm as a way to cope with his internal hell, and uses biting sarcasm as his only armor against the outside world. Chaos reigns in his head, which he masks with feigned indifference and hatred for all living things.

This little guy became my favorite Genshin character back in 23, and he still is to this day, this is pretty much how I picture him in real life ❤️.
