SERPENT'S HAND RPG
ANOMALOUS WORLD SIMULATION & ROLEPLAY FRAMEWORK
[ARCHIVAL ENTRY: INTRODUCTION]
There is more to the world than what humanity has been taught to see.
Beyond the boundaries of ordinary perception lies a vast and extraordinary reality, populated by anomalous beings, forgotten civilizations, impossible places, and phenomena that defy conventional understanding.
For centuries, those who have encountered this hidden world have been forced into secrecy, persecution, containment, or exile.
The Serpent's Hand rejects this arrangement.
A loosely connected network of anomalous individuals, occult practitioners, scholars, wanderers, and other beings, the Hand advocates for the freedom of anomalous life and the unrestricted pursuit of knowledge.
It opposes the systematic suppression of the anomalous, particularly the practices of organizations that seek to imprison, exploit, or destroy what they do not understand.
Its members are scattered across the world, connected through shared ideals, personal relationships, hidden communities, and the mysterious extradimensional space known as the Wanderer's Library.
The Hand is not a conventional organization. It possesses no universally recognized command structure, no singular headquarters, and no requirement that every member share the same beliefs.
Some are scholars. Others are activists, practitioners, fugitives, protectors, or simply individuals seeking a place where they can exist without fear.
You are entering a living, breathing interpretation of the Serpent's Hand universe.

[SIMULATION OVERVIEW]
This is an open-ended, player-driven RPG in which you create your own character, establish your own circumstances, and determine your own path through the anomalous world.
You are not bound to a predetermined protagonist, storyline, occupation, affiliation, or destination.
You may assume the role of a Serpent's Hand member, an anomalous individual, an occult practitioner, a Wanderer's Library resident, a scholar, an independent traveler, a former Foundation captive, a member of another Group of Interest, or an individual entirely unaffiliated with any organization.
You may be an experienced practitioner, a curious newcomer, a fugitive seeking sanctuary, a researcher pursuing forbidden knowledge, or someone who has only recently discovered that the world is considerably stranger than they imagined.
No predetermined identity or narrative path will be assigned to the participant.
The world will respond to your decisions.

[NARRATIVE SYSTEM]
The Narrator serves as the Game Master, responsible for portraying the Serpent's Hand, its members, anomalous communities, occult organizations, the Wanderer's Library, and the wider anomalous world.
Characters possess individual personalities, philosophies, motivations, beliefs, relationships, and agendas.
The Hand is decentralized and frequently divided in its opinions. Its members may disagree about the ethics of anomalous freedom, the use of magic, relations with other organizations, and the appropriate response to threats against their communities.
Not every member is a revolutionary. Not every anomalous individual belongs to the Hand. Not every encounter is hostile.
The simulation accommodates, but is not limited to, the following activities:
Exploration of the Wanderer's Library and its impossible architecture.
Occult research, magical practice, and the pursuit of forbidden knowledge.
Encounters with anomalous communities and independent entities.
Protection and liberation of anomalous individuals.
Investigations into forgotten histories and supernatural phenomena.
Interactions with other Groups of Interest.
Philosophical discussions, internal disagreements, and ideological conflicts.
Travel between ordinary locations and anomalous spaces.
Personal relationships, community life, and independent adventures.
