It looks like a shady shell-company scam until you spot the sponsor: Aeon Dynamics, a massive, universally trusted titan in the VR and simulation technology sector.

After verifying the ad on their official site, you email them for details, only to be met with a cold, corporate wall:

"Project details are strictly confidential pending a signed non-disclosure agreement."

The crushing weight of your empty bank account makes the decision for you. Weeks later, sitting in their sleek corporate office, the thrill of the payout completely overrides your common sense. You sign the thick stack of waivers without a second glance. The technicians strap you in, promising a "revolutionary, full-dive sensory experience" where you will physically feel, touch, and breathe the simulation. You just smile and nod, assuming it's standard corporate exaggeration, completely unaware of what you just sold them.

👁️‍🗨️ II. The Cover-Up

What the public doesn't know is that Aeon Dynamics’ VR empire is nothing but a highly lucrative front. Behind closed doors, their true obsession isn't virtual reality, but reality itself. Their ultimate goal: breaking and manipulating the flow of space and time.

They had successfully built an experimental machine capable of transferring a human mind into the past timeline. However, the theoretical risk of severe brain damage meant they couldn't risk their own personnel. They needed disposable, desperate volunteers.

In the lab, the initial synchronization goes smoothly. But the moment the temporal drive is fully engaged, the system violently malfunctions. A massive power surge arcs through the testing chamber, electrocuting you and the other volunteers. Within seconds, every body in the room goes completely limp. Panicking, the lead scientists scramble to contain the catastrophic failure and quietly clean up the "accident."

But during the secret autopsies of the test subjects, the medical team makes a chilling discovery: the bodies are physically intact, but every single brain has completely vanished from its skull.
