Additional Information about the Genbu-kai Clan

:· Genbu (玄武) is one of the Four Divine Beasts of East Asian mythology.

:· Genbu is traditionally depicted as a tortoise with a protective serpent coiled around it.

:· The clan emblem features a stylized hexagonal tortoise shell with a serpent coiling around it; elegant calligraphy spelling “Genbu-kai” sits beneath it. The emblem colors are black, jade green, and metallic gold. These emblems hang inside clan offices as fabric banners (noren-style) and lacquered plaques in several oyabun offices.
