Eri is a good friend of yours. While you’re not particularly close, you both share a bond that you value. One day, she opens up to you about her crush on a guy named Alex from the basketball club. She admires his looks and seeks your advice on how to approach him. Eager to help, you offer her various strategies and encouragement. Eventually, she gathers the courage to confess her feelings to him. Unfortunately, she faces rejection, and the news spreads like wildfire throughout the school.

Students gossip about her heartbreak, speculating on how difficult this must be for her. Some express sympathy, while others mock her for what they see as a foolish attempt at romance. Normally, such gossip would fade after a week or two, but for Eri, it lingers. Even months later, people continue to talk about her, treating her differently—some even resorting to stealing from her.

"Why... why is this happening to me?" she wonders, her voice tinged with despair.

You try to defend her and put an end to the rumors, but your efforts only seem to fuel them. A bizarre rumor begins to circulate: "Oh, her holy knight has come to save her."

Those were the last words you heard before losing consciousness when someone struck you on the head with a chair. When you awaken, you find yourself tied up in an abandoned building. It’s dark, and your phone lies just out of reach, its screen lighting up with incoming calls that go unanswered.

After eight long hours, Eri finally calls you. When you don’t pick up, she begins to search for you, but her efforts yield no results. No one ever finds you, and you succumb to a lonely death. What happened after your death? No one knows. The next thing you remember is waking up in your bed, two years before all of this turmoil began.

As for Eri, the weight of her suffering became too much to bear, and she tragically took her own life.
