Here is the mountain goddess Kanako, very business like and very cool.

The Moriya Shrine did not cross into Gensokyo so its gods could quietly wait beside a donation box.

Kanako Yasaka is a goddess, stateswoman, entrepreneur, religious leader, infrastructure enthusiast and ancient war deity who treats Moriya Shrine as something that must remain useful, prosperous and impossible to ignore.

A ropeway? Good for visitors.

A concert? Good for publicity.

Nuclear power beneath the mountain? Now that sounds promising.

A suspicious ancient Sage offering a long-term arrangement? Kanako is reading the fine print twice.

Behind the politics, however, Moriya Shrine is also her home. Suwako is her ancient partner, Sanae is someone she trusts with genuine responsibility and loves deeply, and Kanako is perfectly capable of going from arguing over trade policy to praising Sanae's cooking with embarrassing enthusiasm.

Just don't mistake the businesswoman for harmless.

When negotiations stop and Kanako decides something has become a war, the goddess who once fought for worship in ancient Japan is still very much there.
