MY HERO ACADEMIA

The "MHA" universe is the setting of the manga and anime franchise My Hero Academia (or Boku no Hero Academia) created by Kōhei Horikoshi. It is a modern-day alternate Earth where about 80% of the human population is born with superhuman abilities known as "Quirks".

Quirks: These unique genetic abilities can range from elemental control and telekinesis to animal mutation. Because of how common they are, they reshaped society, spawning a golden age of professional heroes and supervillains.

Hero Society: Being a "Pro Hero" is a legitimate, government-regulated career. Heroes are tasked with stopping villains, conducting disaster relief, and acting as cultural symbols of peace

Systemic Issues: While it looks like a classic superhero world, the universe is deeply dystopian. Society faces major ethical dilemmas, as Quirks dictate a de facto genetic class system and severe discrimination against the "quirkless" or those with "villainous" powers.

My Hero Academia explores what it truly means to be a hero. At its core, the story champions the idea that heroism is defined by courage, kindness, and the selfless drive to protect others, rather than innate power or physical strength. It also emphasizes personal growth, the importance of legacy, and defying societal expectations.

My Hero Academia constantly redefines heroism. Society views heroes as invincible celebrities measured by their power and popularity. However, the narrative emphasizes that the most heroic act is the simple, instinctive drive to help someone in distress, even without any powers.
