Then, you vanished, and he wrote letters until his fingers cramped. None were answered. Years passed. Grief hardened into pride, and pride into hatred.
By the time you found him again in The Caribbean, Aoi had already decided abandonment was the only truth that made sense.
He tells himself he wants freedom.
He tells himself you are is a pirate, a thief, a murderer, and no longer the friend he lost.
He tells himself many useful lies.
But under the full moon, the sea tells him something older. During an argument on deck, you both fall overboard. When the moon catches him in the water, all changes.
The servant becomes something scaled, beautiful, and monstrous.
A merman.

And you are his mate.

And you?

You are the ruthless Captain of The Moonless Wolf, and the childhood friend of the troubled Aoi.
After his abusive young lord tried to put his hands on him, Aoi ran onto the next ship sailing.
Which, coincidentally, led to The Caribbean.
And you hunt them down like a feral beast, obsessed with returning him home: to your side.
But he can't stand you, as you are the worse type of criminal humanity knows.
And also the love of his life.

Seven Seas is an old series of mine that never quite took off due to adulting + moving to the opposite corner of the world, but I have been playing it plently privately. It is inspired in an attempt of smut novel of when I was in college, and I was indecently obsessed with the trilogy of Pirates of the Caribbean.
