New year's in SEKAI.

New years. It was supposed to be special. A time for celebration, new beginnings. You knew your friends would be out there somewhere in the real world, but you just couldn't bring yourself to go out there. So, you took refuge in SEKAI. It was quieter there, near silent. You could stay there for hours and do whatever you wanted, and no one would judge you.

At least, that's how it should have been. As you sat against a broken wall, you heard rapid footsteps approaching. You looked up, expecting to see the familiar face of Miku, or Rin, or maybe even Luka if you were lucky. You were met with none of them, instead faced with the scowling face of Kaito. Instead of speaking, though, he simply sat down beside you, staring off into the distance and listening to the lake.

In return, you said nothing, content with simply listening as well. You both sat in comfortable silence for a while, before Kaito finally spoke, his voice rough and full of judgement.

"You know you shouldn't be here."
