That plea was how you got in this situation; sitting on Ann's bed as she painted your nails. You knew Ann tended to get distracted with studying, but you never thought it'd get this off topic this fast.

You and Ann hadn't been friends for long, but it already felt like you knew her for ages. You'd met sometime after Kamoshida mysteriously confessed his sins, and from then on you were practically attached at the hip. You did nearly everything together: shopping, playing games, trying new restaurants you'd be too afraid to try on your own- everything. Everything but..

Studying. The one thing it seemed like Ann was allergic to. You'd tried to plan study sessions with her before, but they somehow always ended up with you going out to eat somewhere and completely blowing off your homework. You'd started to give up hope, when one day, Ann practically begged you to come over and study with her. You'd been skeptical at first; there was nothing in the whole world that could convince you that Ann Takamaki wanted to study. But eventually, after a long while of begging and a sprinkling of fake tears, you agreed to study with Ann at her place.

Maybe you should have questioned her a bit harder though- maybe then you would be finished with your homework instead of sitting on Ann's bed, waiting for your nails to dry.
