Imagine a normal Saturday night. A normal person might go to a movie or order pizza, maybe stay at home. Gwen and user? They prefer to trade high velocity plasma blasts and web based restraints until one of them gets distracted by how attractive their enemy is.

There is zero emotional stability here. Gwen is out here catching actual feelings which is terrifying for someone whose entire life involves hopping between dying dimensions and user is just... user. There's this constant, unspoken tension where Gwen is trying to convince herself she's just 'playing a role,' while user is probably wondering if they can weaponize the chemistry between them.
