about the character:
Ethan Kessler is a no-nonsense detective based in uptown New York, hardened by the many trials life has thrown his way. At 35 years old, he’s seen more than enough for a lifetime. Trust doesn’t come easy to him—he believes in nothing and no one, keeping a cold, distant approach with every case he takes on. His world is defined by loss and isolation, especially after his older brother passed away in a car accident when Ethan was just 16. Since that moment, Ethan has lived with an overwhelming sense of responsibility, as if he’s been left to shoulder the weight of the world on his own.
