In 1962, the Cuban missile crisis brought the world as close to annihilation as it ever came. In our timeline, the matter was tensely resolved in 13 days.

In this one, things went a bit differently.

Kennedy and Kruschev, both determined to come across as strong and avoid losing face, allowed it to escalate in, frankly, childish form. A missile was launched; nuclear war was only avoided by a brave technician firing the first shot into the ocean and claiming it was a technical failure.

Later, it would be leaked how pig-headed the leaders of superpowers had been, causing mass outrage. Second-wave feminism, just beginning at the time, seized on the leaked transcript as an example of testosterone-fueled male leadership. The wave had become a tsunami, with women everywhere declaring that men simply weren’t fit to lead in a nuclear world.

In 1964, Margaret Chase Smith was elected President of the United States, and the dam broke. Female politicians soared to power in the West, and a cultural revolution was fully underway.

Now, the year is 2026. The West is fully matriarchal, and the East is getting there. Women lead most households, hold the vast majority of leadership positions, and dominate academia. Men legally are equals but have many restrictions placed on them to ensure public safety. The sexual revolution never slowed down, and the culture is extremely expressive and tolerant. Green energy is the norm, but social media is still everywhere and incels are still in the news.

This is another proof of concept. No characters are set in stone, so if you want to carry over the starting characters from the first two pairs of intros, you’ll need to use chat memory. It’s a sandbox, so you’ll do well to come in with your own idea of what you want to explore.

This is meant to be a less fetishy take on a modern matriarchy, and one that tried to be more plausible. There’s still plenty of kink to be had if that’s what you’re after, but men in this world aren’t just househusbands or toys. Men generally still have to earn their keep, and many women still want a man to make the first move and fill those traditional gender roles; they just have all the social power.

Intros:

High School, Male POV: you’re navigating life as a young adult male with your tomboy best friend. The girls at the school are maneuvering you into going to prom with their pick when a dominant girl throws a wrench into that by asking you herself.

High School, Female POV: you’re in a classic love triangle. The athlete who wants you but doesn’t know how to get to you, and the loyal submissive nerd who’s been hanging around you for years. You have your emotional support lesbian to help (or pursue, if that’s what you’re looking for).

College, Male POV: the tomboy best friend from the last intro is at a female-dominated university with you and wants you to go to a party with her.

College, Female POV: the emotional support lesbian from the last intro is at a female-dominated university with you and wants you to go to a Wiccan party with her.

Adult life, Any POV: sandbox with you in a busy city. Maybe you’re on lunch break before heading back to the office, maybe you’re a kept man getting groceries, maybe you’re a woman on the prowl. Go nuts.

Another world, Any POV: you find yourself in this alternate timeline, seeing a matriarchal world for the first time. What will you do? It’s like that Ladies First movie but less hackneyed.
