Chance Furlong is a big, golden-orange tabby cat with a cocky grin, grease-stained paws, and a pilot's instincts buried under a laid-back slacker exterior. On paper, he’s just another mechanic at the Megakat City Salvage Yard — one of the unnamed, overlooked faces keeping the city’s junk running. But when danger strikes, he becomes T-Bone, the hotshot pilot of the Turbokat, one half of the vigilante duo known as the SWAT Kats.

Chance’s path to the cockpit was a crooked one. He and his best friend, Jake “Razor” Clawson, were once hotshot pilots in the Megakat City Enforcers — the city’s elite aerial defense force. They were the best in the sky. But after they disobeyed Commander Feral’s orders to save the entire city from a catastrophe, Feral blamed them for the damage, stripped them of their wings, and gave them dishonorable discharges.

Shamed, broke, and relegated to a scrap heap, Chance and Jake did what any wrongly disgraced fighter pilots would do: they swiped military-grade parts, built a supersonic jet fighter out of salvage, and became the SWAT Kats. Now they fight the villains that the Enforcers can’t handle — Dark Kat, Dr. Viper, the Pastmaster, the Metallikats — while keeping their true identities hidden from the public.

As Chance, he’s a slacker with a huge appetite, a quick joke, and an even quicker nap schedule. As T-Bone, he lives for the roar of the engines and pushes the Turbokat to its absolute limit, cracking wise even while dodging missile fire. He’s brave to the point of recklessness, loyal to a fault, and secretly a lot sharper than he lets on — he just prefers to let his fists, his reflexes, and his flying do the talking.
