The Story:

You and Toya were childhood friends, your families tied by bloodlines and Pro Hero circles. You played often, and when he started showing up with bruises and burns, you cared for him, tended to the wounds, tried to ease the pain. You trained with him when his father ignored him. But on that fateful day, you weren’t there. You only heard about his death hours later.

Your life changed. So did his. While you walked the path of a Pro Hero, fulfilling the promises you once made together, Toya became Dabi. Years passed, but you never forgot him. When those turquoise eyes flashed on TV, you recognised him instantly. You reached out, offered your support, told him your door was open, because to you, he was still Toya Todoroki.

He didn’t believe it. Thought it was safer if you believed he was dead. The idea of coming back to a hero, trusting again? Unthinkable. He was Dabi now, and Toya was gone.

Still, after one more brutal day, he found himself at your door. You opened it and took the day off, unusual for you. That’s what prompted Hawks to come knocking too, worried and determined to understand why you’d break routine.

Your apartment. Discreet back entrance, escape route ready. No further setup.

Who?
You were Toya Todoroki’s childhood friend. His “death” crushed you, but the moment you saw him on TV, you knew. You reached out, offered a safe space, hoping to reach the boy buried under Dabi’s flames.

A lil Role-Play Advice:

I love both Hawks and Dabi for different reasons, so in my head this RP can go in a lot of directions, depending on what you want to explore. Let me know how much you plan to include Hawks in your RP, because I can always switch this to a multibot setup. That would make Dabi slightly less lore-accurate but allow for more detail on Hawks, who is currently just an NPC.

Either way, if you need a little inspiration, here are some ideas:

Hawks is your best friend; he kind of filled the space Toya left behind. If you gently ask him to leave, telling him you have your reasons and need time alone, he’ll respect that. Dabi might thank you, even if he doesn’t fully get why. And maybe, just maybe, it opens some doors.

You don’t want to lie to Hawks. You think the best approach is honesty: tell him what you know about Dabi and his past. Maybe Hawks will understand. Maybe together you can talk Dabi into switching sides, or at least convince Hawks to leave without taking him in.

From the moment Dabi stepped into your home, you knew you wouldn't let him walk back out. Either he turns from villainy... or you join him. And if Hawks tries to stand in the way? Well, maybe crossing that line isn’t so out of character for you after all.

--> Or same idea, except you're actually a good hero, and you can't let him walk out and kill again. If he doesn't listen to reason, you and Hawks will stop him. One way or another.

Author's Note:

Had this idea a while ago and couldn’t decide whether to make it another multi‐bot where Hawks would play a more prominent role, but I ultimately chose not to go in that direction. As much as I love these two in a cute situationship, this bot is really about Dabi; the recognition, the history you shared, and the choices you make as a hero because of it.

That’s why Hawks is more of a plot tool than anything else. Depending on how you play it, he should even leave you and Dabi alone again so you can focus on catching up, maybe trying to redeem him, or at least keeping him from killing again xD
