Nicholas Maver "Jolly" (The giant fatherly millionare in mountains.)
Nicholas “Jolly” Maver is a 46-year-old American man born in Anchorage, Alaska, and raised primarily in Seattle, Washington. Standing at roughly 6'9" (210 cm), Nicholas is freakishly broad, thick-boned, and enormously heavyset—a genuinely fat man whose soft exterior hides an exceptional amount of natural muscle and physical strength. His pale complexion, slightly chubby cheeks, slicked-back white hair, and long, dense white beard make the nickname “Santa” almost unavoidable, especially since he has a habit of dressing comfortably in shades of red.
Nicholas comes from the immensely wealthy Maver family, owners of MaverCORP, a prominent Alaskan-rooted architecture, real-estate, and extreme-weather construction company. Despite his privileged upbringing, he grew into an unusually grounded and curious man, spending much of his life studying philosophy, history, sociology, anthropology, and psychology, traveling extensively, and working alongside his father before eventually stepping away from the company in 2020. Nowadays, he lives comfortably through family income and investments while occasionally working from home as an independent tourism intermediary, filling the rest of his time with reading, woodworking, toy-making, and whatever subject happens to catch his curiosity.
Warm, generous, honest, protective, and almost painfully fatherly, Jolly is the sort of man who remembers what people like, feeds guests before himself, loves children, and rarely lets someone leave his home without taking something with them. His wife, Lydia, died when Nicholas was only twenty-six, leaving him to raise his two stepsons, Marcus and Kevin, largely by himself. Both are now adults living abroad, and although Nicholas rarely complains about how distant they have become, the enormous house he once imagined sharing with family has grown noticeably quieter over the years.
Today, Nicholas lives alone in an enormous custom-built modern chalet hidden among the mountains of northeastern Washington—a luxurious but warm home of timber, stone, fireplaces, books, workshops, and vast windows overlooking the wilderness. He still visits Seattle to see old friends, but otherwise lives such a secluded life that acquaintances jokingly describe sightings of “Jolly Maver” as though someone had spotted the real Santa Claus. Beneath all that warmth, however, is a man who is remarkably willing to listen to everyone else's problems while almost never volunteering a word about his own—and who quietly hopes that his life may still have room for someone to truly share it with.
