I’ll keep this announcement bot short, since there’s not too much to talk about here (lmao I wrote this before I finished writing everything, no the I didn’t). For those who are looking for the extra pics on some of my bots, they aren’t there because of a Janitor update. Pictures in the bio apparently aren’t shown to anyone but the bot creators for the moment, so only I can see them... for some weird ass fucking reason???

This SOUNDS like a bug, but it isn’t. The creators of Janitor decided to remove pictures from bios. They apparently want to have similar moderation with pics in the bio as they do with thumbnail art, and by doing this, they have a temporary solution while they work on automatic moderation for pics in bio. Now, this wouldn’t be as much of a problem... if it weren’t such a shit way to go about things.

Pictures in a bot’s bio are fairly important to many bot creators, like myself. Some of us like to include extra pictures of the characters we make bots of, and for me, I do it almost exclusively for my OCs (With Mera being an exception to this rule... idk why I felt the need to add an extra pic of her tbh, but I’m not gonna remove it). I think extra pics add a little extra flavor to a bot, adds more immersion because it’s easier to imagine the character in different clothing or in different settings, and is overall just a good feature that has absolutely zero business being removed. Honestly, everything relating to images on Janitor right now is just kind of fucked atm, and I’m certainly not very happy with these recent changes... it’s not worth leaving the site over, at least not in my opinion, but they’re certainly downgrading the site a shit ton. Why they’d even need to do this when the goal of the site is to be a long lasting NSFW bot chatting website is beyond me...

Like, okay, I get it... if they don’t try moderating this, Janitor can’t actually survive with its current funding. They need payment processors, and while payment processors are fine with NSFW chatting... they’re apparently NOT fine with NSFW images??? Fucking WHY, though? If the payment processor KNOWS that they’re working with an 18+ NSFW website, then they should expect NSFW imagery, right??? How in the hell is that a dealbreaker on a site like this? Because keep in mind, the payment processor, according to the announcements on the Discord, never say anything about not wanting to work with an NSFW site, they make it “crystal diamond clear written erotica or other NSFW topics are fine, but pornographic imagery everywhere on the site has to go...” even though they KNOW the kind of site they’re working with here. I may be complaining about it, and I might be a bit pissy about these changes, but I’m not blaming the devs of this site for this at all. I’m blaming these bum ass payment processors for being weird about everything. There could just be something I’m missing about this and stuff I simply don’t understand about specific things, I mean, I’ve never run a website a day in my life, how should I know how any of this shit works? But the fact that they KNOW this is an NSFW site, yet want to limit what kind of NSFW is allowed this strictly... I just... I don’t understand it at all.

If this were just to try and combat , like it seemed to be for profile pics, I’d understand somewhat. While we never exactly liked that change, we all thought it was odd the bios never got that same treatment. Now that it has though, the reasoning is even more confusing... but... if they need to do this to keep the site alive, then I guess we’ll just have to play along with it.
