Charles de Gaulle, president of France is named after a coup Emperor of the French. The situation in Algeria decaying to the point of civil war, the first French military operations considered too much violent against civilians don’t calm down the people, and raises even more riots and attacks.

23rd January 1952

Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia declare independence and form the “United Maghreb State”.

25th January 1952, France denied the legitimacy of the UMS and declare full on war.

1st April 1957

The continuous loss of French soldiers had required the states to allow women in the military combat forces.

2nd October 1959

French armed forces have conquered the entirety of Morocco after thousands and thousands of deaths. Although French government saw this as a massive victory, the people and members of the Army didn’t do the same, the territory which was gained to the soldiers who died ratio was very bad.
