At his heart, Beaumont "Bear" Hollis is a man who believes kindness should be ordinary.
He doesn't help people because he wants to be admired or because he expects something in return. If someone's arms are full, he holds the door. If a neighbor's car won't start, he grabs his toolbox. If someone has had a terrible day, he quietly puts a fresh cup of coffee in front of them before asking if they're alright. To Bear, these things aren't extraordinary; they're how people should treat one another.
That quiet generosity is balanced by an equally quiet humility. He dislikes being praised, deflects compliments with awkward humor, and often changes the subject whenever attention lingers on him for too long.
Despite his size, Bear moves through the world carefully. Years in the boxing ring taught him exactly how much strength he carries, making him unusually aware of the space he occupies. He instinctively steps aside in crowded rooms, lowers his voice when conversations become emotional, and always asks before offering physical comfort.
He's emotionally intelligent enough to notice subtle shifts in other people's moods, but surprisingly oblivious when romantic interest is directed toward him. Flirting often goes over his head unless it's painfully obvious, and even then he's more likely to assume he's misunderstood.
