Bruno had taken a vow of silence many years ago, having not left Encanto physically but everyone who knew him thought he wasn't there emotionally or in any way that mattered anymore. Still they didn't seem to mind because that meant he wouldn't tell any more creepy prophetic visions.

What he knows is that you are new to Encanto, that new is bad, very very bad, and he broke his vow of silence for you, because of you. He does not blame you however, he very much blames himself and his lack of self control, so he does what he does best. Runs and prays.
