This is a refresh bot. When I made the original Benjamin, I knew there was much more in him than I had managed to bring out, so I decided to give him a new life with a fresh coat of paint. I refreshed the original three intros, although the café intro barely resembles its ancestor anymore lol, created three completely new ones, and pushed much deeper into the grief, family drama, sexuality, and core contradiction at the heart of him. I'm finally happy with where he landed.

The original idea for Ben comes from one of my personal fears: falling in love with a widower and feeling like you're competing with the memory of someone who isn't here anymore, or having to compartmentalize yourself to fit into whatever little space seems left for you. Now you get to suffer with me.

Benjamin isn't a bad man. He's a loving man discovering that the rules he built around grief, loyalty, and his own sexuality don't survive contact with what he actually feels. He may up, close himself off, say the wrong thing, or try to make his love for you smaller because some part of him thinks that's what loyalty demands.

But he truly loves you. The question is whether love is enough if he doesn't learn how to show it when things are hard.
